PowerOn (for the Psion 3a) Version 2.0, 31-Oct-94 PowerOn is a very simple use of system events. Whenever the Psion 3a is switched on, a specified sound file is played. When the program starts, it asks you for the sound file you want to play whenever the Psion 3a is switched on. You locate the file in the usual manner. You can hit the ESC key in this dialog box if you don't want to proceed. Once a file is selected, PowerOn puts itself in the background and waits for system events. Whenever the "system on" event is detected, the sound file plays. To terminate the program, just bring it to the foreground by switching to it (e.g. highlight the PowerOn icon on the system screen and hit ENTER). Installation ------------ The zip file contains: 1. The program POWERON.OPA Transfer to an \APP\ directory on the Psion 3a and install on the system screen with PSION-I 2. A choice of sound files AVONSCOM.WVE Avon's communicator from Blake's Seven KIRK.WVE Captain Kirk's communicator from Star Trek ORACON.WVE ORAC from Blake's Seven switching on ORACOFF.WVE ORAC from Blake's Seven switching off Transfer whichever you want to use to a \WVE\ directory on the Psion 3a. You can of course record your own sound file and use this with PowerOn, which may give you another way of reminding you to do something other than with a timed reminder in TIME or AGENDA. 3. The source and icon, POWERON.OPL and POWERON.ICO are included for you to experiment with. You'll want to put both in an \OPL\ directory on the Psion 3a Changes in version 2.0 ---------------------- You can now choose the sound file at start up.
